Internal Communications Coordinator

Full Time, Temporary (up to 14 months)

 

We are looking for an Internal Communications Coordinator to join our growing and ambitious Customer Experience and Marketing Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, while playing a pivotal role in supporting our internal communications strategy for our UK-wide business.

Within the MSC UK Marketing team, we are continuously evolving and developing our communication capabilities. Success is always a team effort, but this is your chance to be an expert in the field and drive our employee communications, utilising strategy, imagination, and a strong creative flair.

Beyond communications, you will also get hands-on experience with internal office events, branding, design and more, making this a truly well-rounded role.

If successful in the role, you’ll be supporting the wider Customer Experience and Marketing team to achieve great things together.

 

Skills and experience you’ll bring to us

You will possess excellent writing skills, with the ability to create engaging and grammatically accurate content that embodies our brand values and positions MSC in a positive light.  You’ll have experience in creating communications in different forms of media. You will also possess creative flair and the ability to generate new concepts and ideas to drive innovative ideas that will engage our varying audiences.

We encourage curiosity, autonomy, and feedback within marketing on how we can work better for our people and ourselves against the needs of the business and stakeholder requirements.

 

Some of the key skills and characteristics we’re looking for include:

  • An excellent communicator, whether writing or speaking, and can tailor messages to different audiences
  • Understanding of marketing basics and how to create engaging content
  • The ability to simplify complex ideas and make them easy to understand
  • A flexible, can-do attitude – motivated to find solutions and adapt to change
  • Great attention to detail and strong planning skills
  • A positive outlook and passion for making things better
  • Confidence and the ability to influence and get people on board with ideas
  • Strong time management – you can juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Creative design skills (e.g. photoshop), would be a plus!
  • Tech-savvy, with a good grasp on the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and a quick learner when it comes to new platforms

 

How you will help us and what you can expect

In this role you’ll create and design impactful internal communications while supporting the planning of brand experiences that align with our strategy and embody our culture. You will build strong internal networks to source engaging content, collaborating closely with teams across the business, and ensure our Marketing objectives are consistently delivered.

Further core responsibilities include:

  • Create and design internal communications that bring our brand to life and showcase our company culture
  • Build great relationships across the business to source stories, share updates and keep our internal communications strategy on track
  • Stay on top of company news – whether it’s big changes, team successes, or celebrations – and turn them into engaging stories and visuals
  • Collaborate with a variety of external suppliers, such as, design agencies, videographers, event planners, printers and more
  • Keep internal screens and visuals in our UK offices, fresh, relevant, and in sync with our latest campaigns
  • Regularly check our communication channels – making sure the content stays engaging, up to date and backed by data driven insights with the use on analytics
  • Attend a variety of committee meetings alongside the Internal Communications Specialist, offering support and ensuring our strategy has a voice
  • Bring ideas to the table in marketing planning processes and sessions
  • Help coordinate internal office events and brand experience activities
  • Manage our stock of internal branded merch, keeping records up to date and making sure everything is stored, managed and distributed properly
  • Provide general support to the Internal Communications Specialist and team to help deliver an amazing experience for our audiences and stakeholders
